T-Pain and Wendy’s team up to….buy u a Frosty?

"T-Pain....this is a Wendy's."

Welcome to the first full week of June. How’s it going so far? Let’s hop into what the brands are up to.

Wendy’s and T-Pain Collaborate to Promote Strawberry Frosty’s Return

To promote the return of its Strawberry Frosty, Wendy’s tapped T-Pain, using the moniker Fros-T-Pain, to rewrite the lyrics to his quintessential “Buy U a Drank.” The new version, “Buy U a Frosty,” is on YouTube and soon will be available to “duet” on TikTok for that sweet, sweet user-generated content. One YouTube commenter wrote on the collaboration, “As a Wendy’s manager, I’m very much excited and scared for the amount of frosty that will be sold.”

LinkedIn’s Ad Business Growth for Luxury Brands

When advertising on the platforms, marketers shouldn’t forget LinkedIn. As LinkedIn points out on its Ads Blog, advertisers “forget that these business professionals are also consumers (who buy cars, upgrade their phones, and open new checking accounts).” And users with higher-than-average incomes click on relevant LinkedIn ads, according to research done by VidMob. For luxury brands leveraging storytelling and influencers, this is gold.

Twitter Lost 2 Trust and Safety Executives in 2 Weeks

Twitter operations continue to decline and breed mistrust. This time, Twitter’s head of brand safety and ad quality A.J. Brown departed after Elon Musk decided to overrule Brown’s safety decision and promote an anti-trans documentary. The first departure was Ella Irwin, Brown’s direct manager, who handled content-moderation decisions. Meanwhile, Meta’s Twitter-alternative app has an icon and is rumored to launch this summer.

Skittles Celebrates Pride Month with Audible

Skittles’ limited-edition Pride Month packaging, with art by five LGBTQ+ artists, comes with a QR code to share LGBTQ+ stories via Audible. With the help of GLAAD, Audible and Skittles have provided “a free collection of LGBTQ+ stories on Audible, upcoming special edition Pride episodes of Cameron Esposito's QUEERY podcast, and other meaningful stories of Pride.” The campaign, “There’s a story in every rainbow,” ironically defies “rainbow capitalism”—setting an example for other brands coughs Target and Bud Light coughs.
