Google dunks on iPhone via Instagram

And we are here for the sass.

Welcome to the final week of June. Summer’s officially in full swing and the brands are feeling the season. Let’s get into what’s heating up.

Google Gets Sassy on Social

Google calls out iPhones in a new Instagram post as a way to promote the new Google Pixel. Looks like Google’s embracing the irreverent, combative social posting we normally see from brands like Wendy’s. It’s a surprising move from a usually more-traditional brand.

Panera’s Summer Collection of ‘Swim Soups’

Panera is selling….swimsuits? Its new “Swim Soups: the You Pick 2 Collection" lets consumers mix and match swimsuit tops and bottoms just like when ordering Panera’s “you pick 2” food menu option. Of course, all of the swimsuit designs feature soups, salads, and sandwiches.

Cholula Hot Sauce’s Limited-Edition Streetwear

There’s another food-and-beverage brand entering fashion. Cholula, the Mexican hot sauce, has partnered with community-driven streetwear brand UPRISERS for a limited-edition streetwear drop on June 28 (tomorrow!). And the set, which includes Cholula hot sauce packets, will be available for free while supplies last.

Taco Bell & Paris Hilton? That’s Hot

Another brand leaning into nostalgia this summer, Taco Bell is bringing back the Volcano Menu with the help of ’00s “It-girl” Paris Hilton. The socialite’s signature catchphrase perfectly sums up the menu’s spice level. Taco Bell will also have a “Hot Line” at 1-844-THTS-HOT to engage with pre-recorded life coaching from Hilton to talk you down while the Volcano Menu heats up.
