Peloton rebrands as Disney & Spectrum battle
Disney fights, consumers lose
Welcome to the almost-end of a short week. The close of Q3 is rapidly approaching, so let’s get into it.
Disney vs. Spectrum
After a dispute with Spectrum’s parent company, Charter Communications, Disney pulled access to its owned-channels, including ESPN and ABC, causing viewers to miss the U.S. open and the start of college football. Now, Disney is encouraging consumers to ditch Spectrum and subscribe to Hulu+. And all of this comes as Disney CEO Bob Iger plans to take ESPN direct-to-consumer to create profitably in Disney’s streaming business.
Peloton Rebrands to Increase Market Share
Peloton is rebranding to increase its customer base beyond in-home bike enthusiasts and high-earners willing to spend extra money on workout equipment. Its new messaging and membership tiers, including free content, positions Peloton as a company with something “to offer to everyone, at any level, wherever they are.”
Dove’s New Fashion Week Campaign
Invoking body positivity and general comfort, Dove’s new campaign encourages “women everywhere to reject underarm stereotypes and embrace their pits.” The campaign initiatives include subway ads and a Dove “Pit Stop” pop-up during Fashion Week in NYC.
Bud Light Sponsors 50+ College Football Teams
Following Bud Lights’ 2023 NFL campaign, “Easy to Sunday,” the beer brand is going bigger with its college football campaigns than it has in the past. Bud Light has officially sponsored more than 50 college teams. Notably, this bigger push into sports comes after the springtime Bud Light boycott for its campaign with influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

Just Can’t Get Enough
Throwing off our bras. And, apparently, the rapper Drake loves that for us, and himself.
He’s claimed fans always throw bras at him during his shows—and a lack of bras disappoints him.
And now he’s admitting he’s…..kept them.
Do you agree with Disney’s…negotiation method? Do you think Peloton’s move away from luxury at-home gym equipment is a viable one? Do you think Drake should donate those bras instead of hoarding them? Reply and let us know!
Thanks for joining us, and we’ll see you Tuesday!
